Good Morning -It's a Brand New Day

Whether it's sunny or grey, let's make way
To begin the start up of a brand new day.

I may be clumsy and move quite slow
But I am worth it, can't you see my glow
I may not be, what I used to be
But I am still me, can't you see.

I didn't plan to have Parkinson's disease
I will never give in, because that's not me
My body may have changed through the years
But I am that same person, please don't fear.

I may walk funny or have to repeat what I say
Please don't shut me out, so come by any day.

Being with family and friends

How great it is to go back to my hometown and see people I haven't seen in years
It brings back such wonderful and caring memories that brought me to tears
I am so thankful that I was able to be with so many friends I grew up with
We talked about our times together and those ghosts that were myths

Such happy childhood memories and  innocent time we had back then
It was time to say our goodbyes until we see one another again.
Of course we hugged one another and held back our tears
I sat back and thought about all of those years.

We were able to spend time with our family, it had been years
My sister, Linda did everything for me and I  saw her fear
I had to be strong when my tremors began,
I had to tell her please don't try to lend a hand
I saw her hurt and I tried to make her understand

Please dear Linda I appreciate everything you do
but to fight PD, I make my body do what it has to.
I love you dearly, but I have to move my body,
or I'll end up bedridden and feeling shoddy.
My brother Bill, is always joking and laughing
He tell stories and lets me know what's happening
They both show their love in different ways.
I love them so, even if we disagree, it's ok.


My husband's family is in my heart too.
We have had our differences, more than a few
But I do what I can to not be blue
Life is to short to let things stew
I hope they know, I love them too.

Being with our son and family is heavenly
I have so much love for them so tenderly.
We live so far apart
But they are always in my heart.

Family and Friends are so very important to me
This is why I say thank you God for thee.

Believe in Yourself

Believe in yourself, because you are an amazing soul
Only you are here to test yourself and take control
You may not be able to do the way your use to
But you can at least try and try again, for you

You have nothing to loose and all to gain
So get up and move, even if you need a walker or a cane
It's better than just sitting and going insane

If you are in a wheelchair, don't just feel depressed
Move your arms and limbs up and bring them down to rest.
I knew you can do it, a little at a time
With practice, you will be just fine.

Thinking good and positive thoughts will help you each day.
If negative thoughts come by, just through them away.
Before you know it, you'll feel better as each day passes
The next time I visit, you'll probably be in exercise classes.

When We Had Our Motor Coach

When we had our motor coach, we traveled many miles

We saw God's beautiful country, and saw nature in the wild.

I spoke to many people, sharing Parkinson's awareness, with a smile.

Many pamphlets from NPF, I passed out to all that were interested.

I hope all learned while I spoke, as well as the places we visited.

Our 10 pound maltese drew quite an interesting crowd

For many never saw a small service dog, as they gathered all around.

It helped to let many know what our dog does for me

I was able to tell them about my Parkinson's disease

I remember meeting a couple, the man had a mask face

He couldn't talk very good, but we sat and spoke for awhile.

He said he was ashamed of his mask face and prefer not to be around

I told him he didn't ask for it, so please stay for now.

He said that he was grateful, as I saw a small movement in his brow.

He showed me his photos, he has been taking

This is one thing, his wife said that keeps him from breaking.

I also became friends with a Deb, who is an artist

At Christmas, she gave me a painting that was her hardest

She finished it, with her Parkinson's being in full swing

To me, she is an angel, to care enough to finish this beautiful thing

The picture hangs to show all, she surely will be an angel with wings 

It is hanging straight on our wall, I didn't take a good photo of it.

Life is a Wonder

Life is a wonder of many things to discover

I continue to be amazed of all I uncover

Incredible beauty, nature surrounds, 

Things to see, and wonderful sounds. 

Every life, has so much potential, 

Feed it with love, that is essential

Life may bring sorrow and grief, 

Sometimes it's just unfairly brief. 

With our daily struggles and even pain

Can make our bodies feel constantly drain.

I believe in thanking our Lord for each day 

I do my exercises and take time to pray.

Life's too short and time won't freeze

Enjoy it all, won't you please.

We may have a disability but we have feelings too!

We may have a disability but we have feelings just like you.

I saw you staring at me as I walked down the grocery aisle
Is there something you want to know, or is it just your style?
You can ask, that's alright as I stand here with a smile.
The boy said, I W--want to say--y, I stutter, that's my S-style.

I said, My name is Margie, I'm glad to meet you.
He, said his name was P-Paul, nice to me you too-oo
I saw you walking, with your head up high
Do people m-make fun of y-you, like they do m-me-e, with a sigh.

I have Parkinson's and you stutter, don't feel ashamed, 
We didn't ask for this, so there is no one to blame.

He was on his break and went back to work.
I saw Paul's head down, bagging groceries with the grocery clerk
Boys working beside Paul, began to goof off and make fun of him
I wonder if the manager saw, although the chances were slim.

I finished my shopping but before I could speak to the manager
I saw those boys in the office, as the manager looked red with anger. 
Red faced boys with their heads down, apologized to Paul.

The new manager stood and then spoke with a stuttering drawl.
It's time to g--get back to w-work y'all.

I saw Paul working hard with his head up high, smiling to all.

Super Minion

If I were a super Minion, I would fight Parkinson's disease

So that I can finally be free to be the way I use to be.

I would join my gym and participate in jazzercise class

Or some sort of extensive exercise and have a blast.

But I am not a super minion, but I am in charge of me

I do everything in my power to feel free

I will not give in to these medical problems

All the doctors can do, is what is now common

Give me medicine and set up another appointment

This isn't a medicine show, giving me the magical ointment
So I must do what is necessary to take control
By living and not putting my head down in a hole.
